George M. von Stamwitz George has 20 years of experience practicing environmental law with Armstrong Teasdale LLP and in leading one of the largest environmental law practice groups in the mid-west. Since 1995 he has been closely involved with the growing market for environmental insurance and he repeatedly utilized financial tools where they have added value to promote transactions and the resolution of litigation. As President of AT Environmental, Mr. von Stamwitz is responsible for designing financial tools that fit the precise risks that are impeding a business plan, a settlement or a transaction. He has designed dozens of risk transfer transactions throughout North America and the United Kingdom.

Reynolds Renshaw Reynolds has 19 years experience in the environmental engineering and risk management industries. Reynolds began his career as a remediation engineer, managing soil and groundwater projects under RCRA, CERCLA and several State voluntary programs. His involvement included overall project management and remedial system design, installation and operation. After receiving an MBA, he spent fi ve years establishing and managing the Remediation Cost Cap programs with two insurance companies: Chubb Environmental Solutions and Quanta US Holdings. While at the latter, Reynolds managed the turnkey liability assumption program for the insurer. Reynolds utilizes these experiences to provide technically sound yet financially creative solutions for ATE’s clients.

Thomas K. Bick
Tom has 27 years of experience practicing environmental law, first with the government and, more recently, in private practice. After moving 15 years ago from the Environmental Enforcement Division of the U.S. Justice Department to the Washington, D.C. office of a major Atlantabased law firm, he practiced environmental and insurance coverage law, and developed a subspecialty as that firm’s expert in the use of risk transfer mechanisms, including the purchase of environmental insurance, to facilitate complex business transactions. Since moving to Washington, D.C., he specializes in assisting clients to find creative solutions for resolving lawsuits and government enforcement actions involving contaminated properties, and for managing the risks associated with the purchase and sale of such properties.

Simon Cordery
Simon has extensive experience of both the property and environmental industries, and a unique understanding of contaminated land management and redevelopment. In the 1980s and 1990s he worked in Europe and the US with firms such as ERM and Environ. He has undertaken projects for clients including the World Bank, the US Department of State, Freeport McMoran, and Vivendi. Simon is also a partner in Property Investment Advisory Services, and has established the firm as one of the leaders in contaminated land remediation and redevelopment, both as principal and advisor. He specializes in containing and transferring environmental liability from corporate and property transactions, and thereby improving the timing and return of these transactions. |
